The last International Meeting of the MediMuses project was devoted to the lute family of instruments, one of the main organological categories in Mediterranean music, was organised by En Chordais and held in the Dimitri Mitropoulos Hall of the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron). During the meeting, sixteen eminent virtuosi demonstrated the broad spectrum of music interpreted on various kinds of lute, from the Renaissance luth and the baroque Archlute to the oud and the laouto.

·          Vassilis Vetsos, Greece – Fretless guitar

·          Sokratis Sinopoulos, Greece – Politiko

·          Periklis Papapetropoulos, Greece – Politiko laouto

·          Christos Tsiamoulis, Greece – Oud, Laouto

·          Yiorgos Xylouris, Greece – Cretan Laouto

·          Dimitris Mistakidis, Greece – Laouto

As was the case with all the International Meetings, the action had three levels: recitals and master classes given by the musicians, and lectures. The lectures focused on the historic and artistic evolution of the Lute family and were given by the following musicologists, researchers and instrument makers:

·          Dr. Thomas Apostolopoulos – The lute family in Greek musical tradition,

·          Mr. Kamel Ferjani – Evolution et développement des techniques de jeux du Ud dans le monde arabe,

·          Dr. Walter Feldman – Changes within the lute family in Ottoman music: ca. 1400-1920,

·        Dr. Saifallah Ben Abderrazak – Le luth dans la tradition musicale arabe. Réflexions sur son rôle et sa contribution dans la vie musicale contemporaine,

·          Mr. Stephen Gottlieb A brief history of the lute family in Europe, 14th to 18th centuries).
